I have been currently been placed in a group. I will be working with Jakiul ---http://jakiulasmedia.weebly.com/ --- and Mahfuz ---http://mahfuzasmedia.weebly.com/ --- from what i can see Jakiul loves action adventure as well as horror. He also admires Bruce lee. For Mahfuz he likes action adventure and anime just like me.

WWW: What i like about our prelim is that its different to everyone else by this i mean doing a drug deal instead of a natural conversation, We also achieved the camera work we needed in our film to pass it.
We also had good teamwork because we all contributed to achieve our film by giving our team specific roles. We also had good timing which allowed use not to have delayed time or else people in my class would have used the camera. This would have made us be in a rush and possibly fail.

EBI: We had some errors in our film, firsly we ZOOMED in when we wasn't supposed to, to change this we could of have used a mid shot or close up when my character approached Mahfuz. Secondly our camera wasn't focused at one point, to change this we could re-shoot the shot using auto-focus. Thirdly we had a shot where we didn't cut at the right moment, to improve on that shot we should have re watched it as a group and spot the mistake and edit it out. Lastly we made a grave mistake by filming a drug scene on a rainy day on a wet table.
My brief for my preliminary task was to demonstrate an understanding of continuity editing, this meant filming a scene where a character walk to a door and enters a certain conversation by siting or standing opposite the character and exchanges a couple of dialogue. I would need to complete my understanding of media language by filming a match on action shot, shot reverse shot and not break the 180° degree rule.
The aim of the preliminary was to carry out a conversation to demonstrate our understanding of continuity editing. We made a simple plot about a drug deal. We originally decided to film inside but it wouldn't have looked weird as typical drug deal as its done outside. We however filmed outside because it was in a suitable setting because hardly no one is outside and everyone is in lesson, but the problem we faced was that we used a wet table to do a drug deal which was a mistake in our film.
For the props we used was a flour in a small packet to make it realistic. We also had our characters wear coats with hoodies to make them look like a gangster.
went went well was that we all participated which made things easier. One strength as a group was that we were all focused and we had different roles. There was moments when we giggled because it was quite awkward trying to make a straight face but we all tried and participated and started to become more sensible while filming.
The main limitation we faced was the fact that it was a rain day so we had to film a different day which was why the next day the table was wet and we couldn't film another day or we wont have time to edit to give it to our teacher, however we managed to pass as the rain wasnt a big deal. However, in the end we successfully managed to demonstrate our understanding of continuity editing as we added all the editing techniques we needed and had very few mistakes.
